What you can contact us about

  • Corrections. Tell us which article and what needs fixing. Links to an official source help us verify changes quickly. Use the subject line “Correction”.
  • Topic suggestions. If there is a giving, volunteering or nonprofit question you would like us to cover, let us know.
  • Guest and sponsored contributions. Please read our Write for Us guidelines first, then send a short pitch.
  • Privacy requests. See our Privacy Policy for what we hold and how to ask us to delete correspondence.

What we cannot help with

Nonprofit Compass is an independent publication. The asanonprofit.org domain previously belonged to an unrelated organization, and we have no connection to it. We cannot process donations, issue donation receipts, forward messages, or answer questions on behalf of that organization or any other charity.

We also cannot give individual legal, tax or financial advice. For questions about a specific organization’s tax-exempt status, the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search is a good place to start.

A note on scams

We will never ask you for money, payment details or passwords. If you receive a message that claims to come from Nonprofit Compass and asks for a donation or payment, do not respond. Our guide on how to verify a charity before you donate explains common warning signs.
