Privacy Policy

Effective October 13, 2026. This site is designed to collect as little information about you as possible.

Summary

  • We do not run user accounts, comment systems, newsletters or contact forms.
  • We do not set advertising or tracking cookies.
  • We use cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics, which gives us aggregate visit statistics only.
  • We do not collect payment information — the site does not accept donations or payments.
  • If you email us, we use your address only to read and reply to your message.

Information we receive

When you browse the site

Like every website, our servers receive standard technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. This site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes this information to deliver pages, protect the site against abuse and keep it running reliably. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, described below, to see aggregate traffic statistics such as the number of visits to a page. These statistics are not used to identify individual visitors.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service. It is cookieless: it does not set cookies or use local storage, and it does not fingerprint visitors or track them across websites. A small script loaded from Cloudflare measures page views and page-load performance and reports them to Cloudflare, and we see only aggregate figures, such as page views, referring sites, countries and device types. We do not use this information to identify you and we do not combine it with other data.

When you email us

If you contact us at contact@asanonprofit.org, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use this only to respond, to act on corrections or requests, and to keep a reasonable record of correspondence. We do not add you to mailing lists.

Third-party services

The pages, stylesheets, scripts, fonts and images that make up this site are served from asanonprofit.org itself. Your browser does not contact third-party font services, script libraries or advertising networks when you read our pages.

The only service provider involved is Cloudflare, which hosts the site, processes the technical request information described above, and provides the cookieless Web Analytics script, as set out in its own privacy policy. We do not use it to track you across websites.

Cookies

Nonprofit Compass does not set cookies of its own. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies for security purposes, such as detecting malicious traffic.

Our articles link to official sources and other websites. Their privacy practices are their own; please review their policies when you visit them.

Children’s privacy

This site is intended for a general adult audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you. In practice, the only personal information we hold is email correspondence. To ask us to delete your correspondence, email contact@asanonprofit.org with the subject line “Privacy request”.

If we publish sponsored or guest content in the future, it will not include hidden tracking on our pages. Links to a sponsor’s website take you to that sponsor, whose privacy policy then applies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes, for example if we introduce new services. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
